Pilgrimage of Santa María A Real and the Holy Miracle of Cebreiro
The most important pilgrimage Pedrafita do Cebreiro, the Romería de Santa Mª to Real do Cebreiro and Santo Milagre, It is celebrated every year on the days 8 and 9 of September.
This celebration is mainly motivated by the religious component. Pilgrims from many parts of Galicia and part of Bierzo, Most of them have been going on foot to Cebreiro for many centuries to venerate Santa Mª A Real do Cebreiro and O Santo Milagre., according to the tradition.
The main event is the Great Mass and the subsequent procession through the streets of the city where most of the pilgrims participate..
Other fundamental elements are the visits to the relics of the Holy Miracle, to admire the chalice and the paten where the miracle took place (The Holy Grail of Cebreiro) and pray in front of the Virgin of Santa Mª A Real do Cebreiro.
This party will be completed with performances by traditional music and dance bands., popular sandwiches of the country or tasting of traditional local products of the village, shopping at the various street vendors and for the days ending with nightlife.
